FORMER Morton striker Peter Weatherson is to be inducted into the club's hall of fame.

His total of 122 goals over 10 seasons at Cappielow makes him the club’s joint fourth highest scorer of all time and he is the only Ton player to score over a hundred goals this century.

He joined the club in 2003 from Queen of the South in a £30,000 deal.

Peter hit a hat-trick on his debut against Arbroath and finished his debut season as top scorer with 20 goals.

During the following season, he was moved to full back by new manager Jim McInally and played there for 3 years but netted 18 goals from that position as the club’s leading scorer in the 2006/7 promotion winning season.

Future managers preferred him in a striking role. He hit three or more goals in a game four times for the club, the highlight being four goals from full back in a 9-1 thrashing of Forfar Athletic in April 2007.

Peter was granted a testimonial by Morton in recognition of his 10 years with the club and is now set to be honoured again.
