DEFENDER Jack Baird says Morton MUST win their next three games if they are to stand any chance of finishing in the play-offs.

Ton are three points behind Inverness and Ayr who sit in fifth and fourth respectively.

On Saturday they welcome Raith to Cappielow before following up with clashes against Queen's Park and Cove Rangers and the former St Mirren man says getting all nine points is now non-negotiable.

Baird told the Tele: “We’ve probably overachieved with the positions that we’ve found ourseleves in this season.

“We weren’t expecting to be in the play-offs or near the top at this stage but here we are. We’ve now got three very tough games coming up to finish off the season as strongly as we can.

"Raith are a good team, Queen’s Park are another very strong side who’re looking to win the league and Cove are battling away at the bottom.

“It needs to be perfect if we want to get into those top four places, we need to win all three games and even if we weren’t playing for those places we’d be going out to win every match anyway - so nothing changes in that sense.

“It will be difficult but we’ll do what we can. You don’t want to be looking for favours but we’ll just see how it goes."
