MORTON boss Dougie Imrie says that his side need to make home advantage count as they get ready for consecutive Cappielow fixtures.

Ton welcome Raith and Queen's Park to Cappielow in two of their final three home games this season and the hopeful Cappielow boss believes that if his side win their three remaining games then they could still be in a shout of making the top four and a play-off place.

Ton have only lost twice since the beginning of February but have recorded several draws and Imrie is looking to secure maximum points in his final two home games to round off the season.

Imrie told the Tele: “You want to try to pick up maximum points every time you can.

“In the games we’ve had against Raith so far this season, it’s been three really tight games with both teams going at it and in the last one we were 2-0 down after 20 minutes and managed to bring it back to 2-2.

"We’re hoping we can go one better this time around and get a victory to kick us on.

“But it’ll be a tough game, and one we’re looking forward too.

“I think this season the home form has been terrific, yes there’s been a few games where we’ve let ourselves down but you’re never going to go through a full season and win every game.

“I can only point to the Ayr game where we let ourselves down a few weeks ago. There’s been some that have been close and could’ve gone either way but the majority we’ve won and some of those were more convincing than others.

“But we’ve got the next two of our final three games at home and I think we’ve got to take full advantage of that if we want to get into the play-offs.

"I think that if we can win all three games then we’ve got a really good chance of being in and around it.

“I think since February we’ve probably had too many draws in there.

"Even if we could’ve turned two of those draws into wins then we would have been in a far better position going into the final three games of the season. But you could say that for a lot of teams."

Meanwhile the Ton chief has confirmed that influential attacker Jai Quitongo has suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury.

Imrie says the club will allow the forward to regain full fitness and avoid rushing him back.

He said: “Jai’s had a recurrence of his thigh injury that kept him out for a while. We have to make sure that he’s okay.

“We don’t want to make it any worse and he’s had to miss the last few games as a result.

“Whether he’s fit for Saturday is another matter, but we’ll wait and see to give him every opportunity.

“He’d missed a long period of time and we need to let him get his fitness back, you could see against Inverness he couldn’t catch a breath and it was similar again against Ayr.
