MORTON right-back Liam Grimshaw says his side must take heart from their undefeated record against Queen's Park as they get set to face The Spiders in a huge encounter.

Ton, who lie in sixth, host the second placed promotioon chasers at Cappielow in their final home game of the season on Saturday.

Grimshaw believes that if his side can finish their regular season strongly with two wins then they’ll have every chance of making the promotion play-offs with 57 points.

He told the Tele: “I think we’ve played quite well over the last few weeks. We’ve started to put a few wins together, now we just need to win our final two games and see where it takes us.

“If we can win the final two, that means we finish the season having won four out of the last six and drawn the other two as well.

“Queen's Park are a good team, they’re a good footballing team too. They’re up at the top end of the league for a reason but we’ve done well against them.

“Saturday is a totally different game all together with the pressure surrounding it. It’ll probably be a tight game.

“It’ll take a lot to get that ball over the line, whether it be a bit of luck or what have you, but we can take a lot of heart into the match considering how we’ve done against them this season.

“At the start of the year, the club’s aim was to stay in the league and we’ve managed to do a bit better than that. To have given ourselves the chance of finishing in those play-offs can only mean good things for this game coming up, and for next season.

"Hopefully we can finish off with a couple of wins and see what happens with other results.”

The Englishman believes that the play-off places will not be settled until the final fixtures.

And he has warned his side to solely focus on themselves.

He said: “If you look at the fixtures there’s potential for so many teams to go and drop points, but on the flip side everybody else is going to be saying the same about us.

“Queen's Park will come here on Saturday looking to try and force themselves into a position regarding winning the league.

"Then we have Cove and they are scrapping for their lives and they’ll probably need to win on the final day to have a hope of staying up.

“Everyone has a chance of playing for something bar one team in Raith - it’s been a competitive league all season.

"I think Queen's Park will want to win and we’re the same. That should make for a cracking game.”
