MORTON playmaker Lewis McGrattan has issued a rallying cry to the Cappielow faithful to help their heroes over the line in Saturday's huge clash against Queen's Park.

Seven points separate Ton and the Spiders heading into the game, but having been unbeaten against Owen Coyle’s men this season, McGrattan hopes that his side have what it takes to claim a third victory against the title challengers to put themselves right in contention for a top four finish.

Club chiefs are hoping to see a bumper crowd come to Sinclair Street this weekend and McGrattan says the Ton faithful can be a crucial 'twelfth man'.

He told the Tele: “We know that six points is what we need out of the two final games if we want to give ourselves the best chance.

“Even if we do get that we still might need to rely on others.

"Despite that though it’s what we’re trying to do, that’s the belief.

“Queen's Park are a good team but we’ve been lucky enough to pick up results against them this season.

“We’ll be hoping to continue that again this weekend, it would be a potentially massive three points in regard to the final league standings.

“It could be that we’ve done well against the bigger teams because the pressure is on them, you never know.

“The bigger games bring higher expectations, so you go into the occasion knowing that but we’ve done well against the likes of Dundee, Queen's Park and others up in the play-off spots, so hopefully that can continue.

“There’s a lot to play for and it’s the final home game of the season so hopefully we can get a good backing this weekend.

“The fans have been good all season.

"Hopefully they can come out and push us over the line.

"Their backing does really help.

"It pushes us on and we’re all in it together."

McGrattan insists the team will not waste a second of the high-pressure 90 minutes worrying about what is happening elsewhere.

He told the Tele: “It’s been the message in my whole time at the club, focus on ourselves and nobody else because we can’t rely on others to do the job for us.

"We need to focus on our own games first and see where it takes us."

McGrattan also revealed his relief at making the most of the chance presented to him by boss Dougie Imrie over the final weeks of the season.

He said: “It’s been good to get in the team in the final weeks of the season.

"I’d obviously been a bit in and out over the last few games prior to that, so to get back in in the last few games has been good, especially with the results we’ve had.

“Playing a full 90 minutes up at Dens Park and then just over an hour against Raith was fantastic, it’s what I want after all the work put in during the week.

“I just hope it can continue into the last two games hopefully and I can stay in the team."
