MIDFIELD dynamo Robbie Crawford feels Morton have proved the doubters wrong and deserve a top four finish as the Championship play-off race heads into stoppage time.
Crawford’s fourth goal of the season, a deft clip in the 65th minute of his side’s victory over Queen’s Park, has put his side within a couple of points of making it into the end of season shootout.
He says his team-mates have always had had the belief that they would be be fighting at the right end of the table come crunch time.
Crawford told the Tele: “It’s crazy this league. As you’ve seen over the last few weeks, on their day anyone can beat anyone.
“Did many think at the start of the season that we’d be challenging where we are? Probably not.
“We believed in the changing room that after going on an unbeaten run of 11 or 12 games that we could challenge for the title.
"We’ve fallen just a bit short of that but when you look at the league we aren’t too far off.
“We’ve drawn games that we probably shouldn’t have done, but it's come down to the final day.
“We go there to Cove needing to win and we’ll be looking to do just that."
