MORTON captain Grant Gillespie says it will be a great achievement if they can squeeze into the promotion play-offs on Friday night.

Ton head to the Balmoral Stadium on Friday night needing a win and then mjst hope that either Partick slip up or there is a draw between Inverness and Ayr.

Gillespie feels that making the top four would be a fine accomplishment for the Cappielow outfit.

He said: "If we were to get into the play-offs it would be a great achievement considering where the club was at.

"At the start of the season, the club was not in a great state and staying up was the main objective for us. That's now obviously changed as the season has gone on.

"Some of the performances we've put in have deserved more points than we've actually acquired but that's football sometimes and you don't always get what you deserve.

"If you'd have told us at the start of the season that we had one game that we needed to win to try and get into the play-offs, we'd have bitten your hand off."
