FOUR favourite players from Morton teams of yesteryear were given a rapturous reception as they were invited back to Cappielow.

Alan Mahood, Mark Pickering, Davie Hayes and Dougie Robertson were guests of the club at Saturday's match against Queen's Park.

The stalwarts were paraded on the pitch at half time, to an ovation from the Cowshed.

Classy midfielder Mahood enjoyed three spells with the Ton during his career while popular left back Pickering was a team-mate and mainstay of Allan McGraw's side during the 90s.

Deadly striker Robertson was an integral figure in the last Ton team to win promotion to the top flight back in 1987.

Hayes amassed 465 appearances during a remarkable 15-year career at Cappielow and he is set to be inducted into the club's hall of fame this month.
