MORTON managerial legend Benny Rooney has been inducted into the club's hall of fame.
Benny took his place in the ranks alongside fellow 2023 inductees Erik Sorensen, Peter Weatherson, Davie Hayes and David Wylie.
Benny arrived at Cappielow as a player in the 1976/77 season before he hung up his boots to concentrate on a coaching role.
He led the club into the Premier Division where they enjoyed five years in the 10-team top flight, briefly topping the table in December 1979 and making two semi-final appearances in national cup competitions.
He left after the club was relegated in 1983.
The late Allan McGraw described Benny as 'one of the great Morton managers, he sorted the whole club out and changed it for the better'.
Benny was formally inducted into the hall of fame at an event held in Port Glasgow Town Hall, just days after marking his 80th birthday.
