CALVIN Miller says his spell at Morton has brought back the enjoyment of playing football as he considers extending his contract at Cappielow.

The tricky winger today revealed that he has held talks with the club about extending his stay.

The former Celtic kid insists that the shot of confidence given to him by boss Dougie Imrie has helped get him back to his best, coinciding with moving back closer to his young family after a spell in England.

Miller told the Tele: “I feel really good, fit and happy.

“The gaffer has shown massive faith in me to give me a platform to get back playing up here in Scotland.

“He told me that he wanted me and thought I could improve the group and I’ve just come in and done a job, thankfully getting a few assists before the end of the season.

“In my last couple of games I think I’ve got four assists in five games and I obviously scored against Inverness back in February so I’m quite happy with my return, but there’s always room for improvement.

“I’m really happy here, there’s no pressure on me now.

"I’m back up the road, playing with a smile on my face and I’m closer to the family too.

"It was great having them out on the park with me last week."

Miller is one of the players offered new deals by Imrie and is mulling the club's offer over.

He told the Tele: “I’m thinking about what I want to do next now. I’ve spoken to the gaffer here and he knows I’m going to assess my options.

“But I’m really enjoying my football here and I’ve got to take that into consideration when factoring what the next steps are and I’d definitely not rule out extending my stay here.

“Cappielow’s become a bit of a second home for me. I played here for Celtic in the reserve games and the European youth ties, so you get a good feel for the place.

“It’s a familiar place and all the boys are so welcoming and easy to get on with."

Miller is still getting over the disappointment of Ton's near miss with the play-offs despite beating Cove in thick fog last Friday, as results elsewhere did not go their way.

He said: “I think for both keepers on Friday night it was ridiculous with the fog.

“We’re just glad that we weren’t left kicking ourselves over a goal we couldn’t follow the flight of, as opposed to what actually happened.

“It was tough for everyone though, the ref and both teams and even the fans.

“We did our job and that was win our final three games. But we’ve missed out on the play-offs and that was the disappointing thing.”
