MORTON remain locked in talks with out of contract quartet Liam Grimshaw, Calvin Miller, Jai Quitongo and Calum Waters.

Discussions over new terms are still ongoing, with boss Dougie Imrie still hopeful that he can build on what he achieved last season after only missing out on the playoffs by a point.

But it is understood that Grimshaw is a player in demand after he swept up all four of the club’s Player of the Year awards at the start of the month.

There are fears Ton could miss out on the full back’s signature after his stellar season.

Grimshaw is set to jet out to the US to feature for AFC Wrexham’s ‘Red Dragons’ in their $1million seven-a-side tournament, where he will be under the eye of the club’s Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McIlhenney.

It is believed that the trio of Miller, Quitongo and Waters are all open to extending their stay on Sinclair Street.

Miller has previously stated that he’d found his love of the game again under Imrie at his second home in Cappielow.

Waters, who arrived on loan in January, is said to be keen to stay in Inverclyde having become a mainstay in the left back berth in the absence of Lewis Strapp.

Quitongo, who has had two offers on the table from the Ton boss, is also open to extending his stay, but could mull over any potential options that come his way.

The winger has made no secret in showing his gratitude towards club bosses for giving him a chance in the game as well as another shot at Championship level and that could sway his decision making.
