A SKILFUL Greenock golfer is king of clubs celebrating after scooping a remarkable haul of honours. 

Paul Dorrian's skills on the tee, fairways and greens have helped him secure the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde 'quadruple'. 

The talented player recently won the title of Greenock Golf Club Champion. 

He's also taken the Inverclyde Champion of Champions title for two years running, and is currently the Renfrewshire Champion of Champions. 

But Paul rates his biggest achievement in the sport to date as winning the Renfrewshire Golf Union County Match Play Championship, at Old Ranfurly in Bridge of Weir.

Paul, 26, said he's thrilled to have the four titles under his belt. 

He added: "I'm absolutely delighted about it. 

"I'm not sure if anyone else has achieved the quadruple but if they have, I don't think there are very many of us. 

"The county one is a really big competition so I'm so very proud to have won that one."

Paul has been Greenock Golf Club champion six times altogether, winning it four times in a row up to 2022.

Congratulating him on his recent success, a spokesperson said Paul was 'the best in the area'. 

Paul started playing golf when he was in primary seven at school, so has been honing his skills for around 16 years. 

He now plays off a +3 handicap and has has taken part in tournaments all over Scotland.

Paul, who works for an insurance brokers, says he wants to play at as high a level as he can. 

He is due to feature in tournaments in Glasgow Gailes and Royal Dornoch later this year to keep developing his game.

Paul added: "I love just competing and trying to be as successful as I can. 

"That's the best part of playing golf for me.

"I want to keep winning at a higher level on a bigger stage."
