CAPPIELOW bosses have announced that season ticket sales have reached the landmark 1,000 mark ahead of the club's first friendly match against Alloa today.

Dougie Imrie's men welcomed on average around 1600 spectators to home games last season, with their last two home games close to and breaking the 2000 mark against Raith Rovers and Queen's Park in a dramatic end to the 2022/23 cinch Championship campaign.

And they look set to close the gap on punters turning up on the day after pledging to tap into a younger generation of football fan In Inverclyde leaving bosses delighted with the unwavering response the people of Inverclyde so far.

A club spokesperson told the Tele: “It’s phenomenal to have reached 1000 season ticket holders by the end of June, a massive thank you to supporters for their backing so far.

“Last year our total was 904, so to be more than 100 ahead of this with over a month still to go until the start of the season is fantastic.

“There’s a real buzz around Cappielow, and we’d love to keep pushing that season ticket number upwards and have as many Ton fans backing us at Cappielow this season.

“Last season saw the average attendance rise compared to the previous year, and hopefully we will be on track to continue that trajectory this year as we look to build on last season.”
