Greenock parkrun, event number 413, September 2

A GRAND total of 109 people ran, jogged or walked the course on Saturday.

There were 13 Greenock first timers, including three participants taking part in their first ever parkrun.

Ten runners recorded new personal bests and representatives of ten different clubs took part.

Two runners, Malcolm Maclean and Jim Cuffe completed their 200th parkruns. Jim has completed all of his double century at Greenock. Malcolm has run at Greenock 174 times.

Another runner, Lynsey McAlees completed her 25th parkrun, also all completed at Greenock.

Also celebrating milestones were volunteers Jim Brannigan (25) and one of the run directors, Lynne Harrison (50).

Kyle Johnstone was first male to finish in a time of 17:18. David Henderson (17:43) and Andrew White (17:48) were second and third respectively.

First lady, in a time of 21:28, was Elizabeth Gemmell. First timer, Karlyn Forsyth of Bellahouston Road Runners, was second female in 21:51, and Evie Harrison (23:22) completed the top three ladies.

The event was made possible by 15 volunteers: Graham Smith, Charlotte McKay, David Black, Jim Brannigan, Stephen Harrison, Lynne Harrison, Emma Sinclair, Andrew McIntyre, Paul Bleasdale, Mark Sullivan, Joseph McFaddeb, Tracey Howe, Marjorie Morrison, Alan Batholomew and Lesley Dick.
