Battery Park junior parkrun, event number 107, September 17
A TOTAL of 26 hardy runners took part in junior parkrun on a very wet Sunday morning.
Two runners, Oscar and Charlie, achieved new PBs. There were four Battery Park first timers - Emilie, Lucas and Zara were running in their first ever parkrun, and Tom was running in his second event.
There were two volunteer milestones, with Caleb Freeman volunteering for the tenth time, and run director Sandra Campbell for clocking up her half-century.
In a time of 07:16, Louis Reid was first to complete the course. Noah Carroll was next (08:11) with Elijah Taylor (08:21) completing the top three boys.
For the second week in a row, Breagha Cannon (09:39) was first girl to finish. She was followed by Shana Byrne (09:45) and Anna Shearer in 09:50.
Parkrun is very grateful to the volunteers who made this event happen: Catriona Anderson, Lesley Dick, Caleb Freeman, Lynne Fulton, James Gavin, Janice Hendrie, Tracey Howe, Fiona MacFarlane, Moira McCluckie, Erin McEleny, Marjorie Morrison, Rachel Neil, Judy Ormond, Susanne Stetz and William Taylor.
Parkrun is still looking for volunteers for the next few weeks. If you’d like to volunteer with the team, just email batteryparkjuniors@parkrun.com
