THE Scottish Rugby Union have hailed the 'exceptional work' of Greenock Wanderers in their annual report. 

In its new 2022/23 review, the SRU describe the Fort Matilda club as a 'beacon of success and collaboration' and praises the 'significant strides' they have made in recent years. 

Officials have highlighted the club's work to improve its facilities, increase participation and make wider links with the local community. 

The club received special praise for its work to enhance its facilities to accommodate the growing numbers of people taking part in the sport, and in particular women and girls. 

Wanderers' use of Scottish Rugby's Growth & Participation funding to deliver activities at Clydeview Academy was also highlighted.

The SRU's report also notes the club's use of CashBack government funding to develop a rugby engagement programme at Inverclyde Academy.
