Here's our look at key players in the Morton team ahead of their Scottish Cup quarter final clash with Hearts on Monday, March 11.

Greenock Telegraph: Ryan Mullen

Ryan Mullen

The former Celtic kid has been a revelation in the absence of Jamie MacDonald for large parts of the season.

Mullen kept nine clean sheets in 15 games in all competitions as Ton as the Cappielow men went about their remarkable turnaround across December, January and February.

His reactions, presence in the box as well as his distribution have shown why he was so highly regarded at Celtic as a kid and it’s a huge bonus that he’s signed up for next season after overcoming persistent thigh issues.

Greenock Telegraph: Lewis Strapp

The Academy product has been an ever present since his return to the club at the beginning of December.

His long throws and ability to drive forward from deeper areas have seen him become a potent threat on that left hand side.

With a handful of assists from the left back position, and a vast improvement in his deliveries into the box, he could be key in this game.

Greenock Telegraph: Alan Power

The former Kilmarnock man has aged like a fine wine in his time at Cappielow, getting better as time has gone on.

Whilst many in the terraces may have beard envy towards the midfielder, many in the Championship will be wishing that they had the ball retention skills and press resistance that he possesses.

Over the last three months you’ve seen why his footballing brain are head and shoulders above anyone else in the Cappielow squad.

Greenock Telegraph:

Iain Wilson

It’s unfortunate that Shug will miss out this one after suffering a season ending calf injury up at Stark’s Park almost a fortnight ago.

Wilson’s defensive nous and uncanny ability to win the ball back in the most awkward of circumstances saw him cement himself as a vital cog in Dougie Imrie’s team.

Not only that, he knew where the back of the net was having scored vital goals earlier on in the season.

Greenock Telegraph: Robbie Muirhead

He’s an enigma and perhaps marmite to a lot of Morton fans, you either love him or hate him.

You can’t argue with his goal return this season, unless its of a stance he should’ve had more than the 14 he currently sits on.

His ability to score a worldie from nothing and galvanise his side from the clutches of defeat have been imperative time and time again since his arrival five years ago.

Greenock Telegraph: George Oakley

George Oakley

Another gutter, not least for Dougie Imrie. Ton’s resurgence was clear to see when it coincided with Oakley’s return to full fitness.

He’s found the back of the net 12 times in all competitions this season, 11 of those since the middle of November and his bombarding way of hassling defenders and goalkeepers is sorely missed up the top end of the park.

He’s scored three goals in his previous three Scottish Cup ties for Ton this season and would’ve fancied his chances for a fourth tonight.
