Greenock parkrun, event number 441

A TOTAL of 98 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom ten were first timers and nine recorded new PBs.

Representatives of ten different clubs took part.

Milestones were achieved by Sue Hewitson, who completed her 250th parkrun and Stewart Anderson who took part in his 300th event (all at Greenock).

Greenock Telegraph:

With a new PB of 20:09, Grace Barry was the first of the ladies to finish.  Also with a new PB of 23:27 was K Barry, and Jill Aikman completed the top three ladies in 24:15.

The event was made possible by 14 volunteers: David MacDiarmid, Lesley Dick, Angeline Austin, Stuart Austin, Francesca Lowrie, Graham Smith, Alex Paterson, Willie Logan, Paul Bleasdale, Joseph McFadden, Tracey Howe, Gerry Langan, Marjorie Morrison and Simon Hutton.

The full results and a complete event history can be found on the Greenock parkrun results page.

Tomorrow's parkrun will be the monthly pacer event. Organisers are looking for volunteers to run the course wearing a vest representing a target time, to allow other runners to follow behind and aim for a PB.

To be a pacer you should be capable of comfortably running at least two minutes faster than the time you are pacing. Pacers will get a volunteer credit as well as a run credit.

Parkrun is still looking for volunteers to complete the rosters for the next few weeks.  Email greenock@parkrun.com or message the Facebook page if you can help out.
