Greenock Cricket Club's second XI are out to maintain their unbeaten league run when they take centre stage on home turf on Saturday.
Glenpark welcome Kilmarnock's second XI, known as Kirkstyle, for their first match in Western Premiership Three since the middle of May.
(Image: alex craig) The team's good early season form which brought brilliant wins against Galloway, Milngavie and Ardrossan in May has been halted by the miserable weather of the past few weeks, which have seen league games against Mearns Challengers, Bute County and Cowal, Vale of Leven and most recently Clydesdale Bees fall victim to the rain.
Glenpark began their league campaign with wins over Galloway, Milngavie's second XI and Ardrossan, and will be hoping the weather-enforced lay-off doesn't result in too much rustiness on Saturday.
The team for to face Kirkstyle on Saturday, with a 12 noon start at Glenpark, is: M Ahmad (Capt), Ma Ahmadzai, Z Dilsoz, Y Hayat, R Kumar, M Mansoor, U Mansoor, A Nair, S Norris, H Safi, M Zeeshan. 12th Man: R Safi
Meanwhile, Greenock's first team tamely exited this season’s McCulloch Cup at the quarter-final stage on Wednesday evening, when the team was well beaten by Prestwick at the Henry Thow Oval.
Batting first, Greenock never recovered from a poor start to their innings and were bowled out for a lowly 64 runs.
It then took Prestwick just under 12 overs to win the match by scoring 65 runs for the loss of just two wickets in reply.
