GREENOCK Cricket Club's second XI are aiming to emulate their first team counterparts by getting their hands on some silverware - and they know then can all but confirm it with victory on Saturday.
With the first XI basking in the glory of their Cricket Scotland Challenge Cup triumph last weekend, the Glenpark XI play host to Clydesdale Bees on Brisbane Street in Western Championship Three, knowing that a win will almost certainly secure the league title.
The local side are 11 percentage points ahead of Mearns Challengers in second spot, and 15 percentage points ahead of the Bees, having lost just one league match so far, and team captain Eddie Ahmad is able to field a strong side.
The Glenpark team for Saturday's match, with a 12 noon start, will be: M. Ahmad (capt), Ma Ahmadzai, Z. Dilsoz, S. Haidary, R. Kumar, U. Mansoor, M. Mansoor, H. Safi, S. Safi, D.C. Sharma, M. Zeeshan. Twelfth man: R. Safi.
Elsewhere, Greenock's third XI, Hillend, completed their WDCU Midweek League campaign with an excellent win over Ferguslie at Meikleriggs on Tuesday.

Batting first, the Greenock side amassed a brilliant score of 161 for 4 from their 18 overs, with Mo Zeeshan scoring a superb 46 and Mubi Ahmadzai hot on his heels with 43.
Despite their best efforts, Ferguslie couldn't get close to the Hillend total, with the hosts restricted to 124 for 5, earning Hillend a winning margin of 37 runs.
Hillend thus finish in a very creditable third place in the final table, capping a fine season for the team.
