Kilmacolm win two Greenock and District bowling finals

GREENOCK and District Bowls Association rounded off their season by crowning 10 new champions.

Kilmacolm Bowling Club were head and shoulders above the rest, claiming two of four victories in the District Finals held at Lady Alice Bowling Club.

Hot on Linda's tail were the duo of Sheila Wilson and Rae Stevenson, who pulled out all the stops to ensure that they got a firm grasp of a doubles title.

Diane Harrison, Norma Syme and Mary Geddes were crowned Greenock and District Triples champions.

Rounding off a brilliant afternoon on the green were the team of Marjory Taylor, Rosemary Ross, Alison Gallagher and Violet Simpson, who navigated their way to victory in the fours competition.

Singles: Linda Phillips, Lady Alice BC

Pairs: Sheila Wilson and Rae Stevenson, Port Glasgow BC

Triples: Diane Harrison, Norma Syme and Mary Geddes, Kilmacolm BC

Fours: Marjory Taylor, Rosemary Ross, Alison Gallagher and Violet Simpson, Kilmacolm BC.
