MORTON boss Dougie Imrie says he is ignoring speculation linking him with the Inverness Caley manager's job and insists his full focus is on this weekend’s clash against Dunfermline.

The Tele reported earlier this week how the key figures at the Highlanders are big fans of the Ton boss, whose price to replace the axed Billy Dodds has tumbled with bookmakers.

Imrie is believed to be one of the candidates that Caley Jags chiefs are looking at, but Imrie says all he cares about is this weekend’s trip to Fife, as Ton take on the Pars at East End Park.

He told the Tele: “I think it’s only natural to be linked with other positions.

"Being a former player up at Inverness as well, its easy to start speculating and start rumours.

“But for me, my full focus is on Morton and winning three points against Dunfermline on Saturday.

“That’s my full focus, because if it wasn’t then that would be unprofessional.

"That's not me.

"I’m a professional guy and I’ve got to do my job.

“On the flip side, it means you’re doing something right.

"But for me I’ve always been the same, I’ll take things a game at a time.

“I’ve got a duty of care here at Morton, to take care of the team the way I have since I took over.

"I’ll continue to do that until I’m told otherwise."

Imrie has been buoyed by last Saturday's 1-1 draw against Dundee United which saw Ton fight back from a goal down.

He said: “After the performance last week at Tannadice we should be full of confidence.

“Tomorrow we’ve got to give Dunfermline the respect that they’re due.

“They've got good players there, people who can hurt us. But my aim is to go there and pick up three points.

“If we can’t do that then the least that we come away with is a point.

“A point away from home is always a valuable one.

"But we do want to get back to winning ways as soon as possible, and we’ll look to do that against Dunfermline this Saturday.”

After having to contend with an injury crisis in recent weeks, Imrie has confirmed that captain Grant Gillespie and key midfielder Robbie Crawford made it through their returns at Dundee United unscathed.

He also revealed that George Oakley has returned to running as he battles back from a cartilage issue in his knee.

The manager said: “The players that were fit and available last week will be again for this week, which is pleasing.

“There’s no change in the guys who are missing except for George, who’s back out running.

“It's good to see him back on the pitch putting the miles in.

"We’ll need to get him up to speed as quickly as possible
