MORTON boss Dougie Imrie has moved to ease his injury fears by securing the signing of Rangers colt Jack Harkness on a season long loan deal.

The Ton gaffer saw all three of his right back options crocked in the space of 25 second half minutes in last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at Dunfermline.

He was left sweating after Tyler French, Darragh O’Connor and Iain Wilson all picked up injuries, with the latter two sent for scans this week.

It was first believed that French had suffered another serious injury following the broken leg that previously saw him ruled out for a year.

But tests have indicated the damage is not as bad as feared. 

O'Connor had been thought to have dislocated his kneecap, but initial scans show no signs of any fractures.

Wilson is however struggling to overcome a calf strain that impacted on his performance at East End Park.

The situation has led to Imrie jumping into the loan market for the third time, just ahead of the deadline for deals on Sunday.

The Ibrox side hold the right to a recall in January for the  19-year-old Scotland youth cap but he is expected to remain in Greenock fo the rest of the campaign.

He recently played in the Ibrox Colts’ side in their SPFL Trust Trophy win over Alloa, a match which was played at Cappielow on Tuesday night.
