DOUGIE Imrie admits that he has been handed a selection dilemma by the players who came off the subs bench and impressed against Dunfermline.

A second half improvement was sparked by the introduction of Jack Bearne and Steven Boyd, who are looking to force themselves into the starting line-up.

The Ton chief highlighted the battling qualities they showed as they tried to help their team salvage a point against the Pars.

Imrie told the Tele: "They showed a lot of fighting qualities.

"Jack's only a young kid and it's been difficult to try and get him into the team at times.

"But with what he and Steven Boyd put in after they came on, they've certainly put themselves into the picture for Saturday [against Partick].

"When you find yourself 2-0 down after six minutes like we did it's going to take you a while to get back into the game.

"I thought we looked nervous for a while and that seemed to be the case in the first half, especially the first 20 minutes.

"But I can't fault the team for their second half performance, I thought that they were excellent."
