GREENOCK welcome Irvine Victoria to Ravenscraig in a battle of second versus fourth in WOSFL 3.
The Vics are the only other team in the league to have played 14 games and for both clubs tomorrow marks the halfway point in the league campaign.
The North Ayrshire club have lost their last two matches and will be highly motivated to rediscover the form that highlighted them as fancied promotion candidates.
There is only one point separating the two clubs so a win for either is highly significant at this stage.
The Nock were professional and considered in their play last week, in winning 1-0 against Finnart FC.
The management team will look for a similar performance with an added dash of incisiveness in the final third.
Generally other results went Greenock’s way last weekend and with a number of teams round about them in the league playing each other this week, a win would provide a welcome cushion against those rivals with games in hand.
There will be enforced changes from last week's starting 11. Andy Irvine, whose injury jinx struck again, has some soft tissue damage and will be out for two weeks. Darren Patton will be unavailable for several weeks due to work commitments and Taylor Lindsay is nursing an injury and is unlikely to be available for Saturday.
Boss Gary Fleming said: “Irvine Vics have been strongly tipped for promotion and have been front runners in the league. That said, we know that on our day we can take points from any team and we go into Saturday full confidence having earned 16 points out of 18 in our last six matches.
"We are keen to protect our six-game unbeaten run and continue to build our momentum. The players are aware that there are places up for grabs on Saturday and training has been intense and of good quality this week.
"We are all looking forward to the game.”
The club are delighted to welcome Dillion Mortgages of Greenock as match sponsor of tomorrow’s fixture
Saturday kick-off 1.30pm Ravenscraig Stadium
Greenock are sponsored by Saveheat, Keystore Cowal View, Safer Group, The Lighthouse Bar, McGills, ARC and Blairs.
