MORTON midfielder Alan Power has warned his teammates to underestimate Montrose at their peril in tomorrow's Scottish Cup clash.

The experienced engine room man says Ton only need to remember their tough cup ties against Kelty Hearts earlier this season to see how tough it can be against lower league opposition.

While Ton won both games fairly convincingly in the end, they had to endure some tricky moments.

The Irish midfielder says he is braced for a tough test against Stewart Petrie's men and is determined to come through it and book a place in the last 16 of the competition.

He told the Tele: "We're up for the challenge, it's always good to progress in the cup. We want to see how far we can get.

"We're not underestimating Montrose in the slightest. It was tough when Kelty came here earlier on in the season.

"It's never as straightforward as people may think, Montrose will be coming here with nothing to lose whereas we have everything to lose, so we'll need to be right on it.

"We did the same ourselves when we went to Ibrox earlier on in the season and went a goal up. Rangers probably underestimated us and we gave them a bit of a scare.

"You need to be 100 per cent professional in these situations, otherwise you'll get a kick up the backside."
