MORTON boss Dougie Imrie says he's heading to East End Park looking to 'right a few wrongs' today.

The Cappielow boss has suffered two disappointing defeats against James McPake's men this term.

Two injuries to right backs in the space of seven minutes marred a 3-1 defeat at East End Park in September, then Ton were two goals down inside five minutes amid an ugly atmosphere at Cappielow in November.

Setbacks like that have been made a thing of the past thanks to a superb unbeaten run of 11 matches which has carried Ton from bottom of the league to fourth place.

Imrie told the Tele: "I'm really looking forward to this game, it's a good opportunity to keep the run going.

"It'll be a tough one, like any away game is. Dunfermline have had their own injury troubles. I've seen that they've signed a few players this week, so it makes things a bit different heading into the game.

"But we can't be too focused on what Dunfermline are doing, we need to focus on ourselves. We need to keep our feet on the ground and keep on swinging in the way that we have been, doing our job properly, then we'll be successful.

"We didn't do ourselves justice in the first two games against Dunfermline.

"In the first game we were crippled with injuries. Tyler French came off injured, Darragh O'Connor replaced him and he had to come off a few minutes later. Iain Wilson came on and was struggling that day, as he hadn't played a lot.

"We lost 3-1 on a day where we looked really disjointed with players playing out of position.

"In the game at our place we shot ourselves in the foot inside the first ten minutes. We lost two poor goals and made the decision to try and get a reaction by taking Iain off after 29 minutes.

"We got the reaction and should've got something from the game but we just couldn't grab that second goal.

"We certainly need to start the game better this weekend, but if we can hit the levels we have in the last two months then we should be okay."

Imre was keen to show his pleasure in his defence turning into one of the steeliest in the land, having only conceded five times since mid-November.

He said: "The team has been chopping and changing in the backline through one thing or another.

"Jack Baird missed out with an injury to his thigh and Darragh's come back in and done extremely well after being out injured for a long time. Tyler's been in and out and Lewis Strapp has come in to replace Calum Waters, who injured his groin as well.

"We've had to chop and change, but it's pleasing that we're managing to keep clean sheets as that's something that we weren't doing at the start of the season.

"Everyone's chipping in and there's a lot of competition for places, which is healthy for any manager.

"The boys are in a great place as a group, both physically and mentally. We want to keep it going for as long as we can."
