MORTON striker George Oakley has been announced as Championship player of the month for January.
Oakley was a key man in Ton's superb run of form during the month, including netting a hat-trick in the stunning 3-2 win away against Dundee United.
The award makes it a double celebration for Ton, as Dougie Imrie has also been crowned manager of the month.
Oakley said: “I am delighted to have received this award after a great month for myself and the boys.
“Despite this being a personal award, I have to give credit to the gaffer, coaching staff and the rest of the team, we’re all in this together and our recent form has come from a group effort.”
