MORTON defender Calum Waters says his can team get themselves out of a tricky spot - by emulating last season's winning run during the final quarter countdown.

The former Killie kid was left downcast after his side's defeat to Partick last weekend. It forced Ton out of the promotion play-off zone, but Waters has urged his team-mates to keep their eye on the prize and draw on their past experience.

He said: “Last season we were in a similar spot, we had to win our last four games and we ended up doing that.

“But we want to make it a bit more comfortable this time, if at all possible. We only lost two out of our last fifteen last season, so we know what we need to do.

“If you’re regularly picking up points then you give yourselves the best chance possible.

“That’s why we want to get back on the bike and picking up results as quickly as possible.

“It's important that we don’t allow ourselves to get too low just now.

“If we do that then I think we’ll give ourselves a good opportunity to bounce back against Dunfermline this Saturday and hopefully kickstart another run. We know we’re capable of doing.”
