MORTON will still be without key man George Oakley as they try to get back on track against Dunfermline tomorrow.

Boss Dougie Imrie says that neither Oakley or fellow forward Jai Quitongo have been ready to train with their team-mates yet as they make their way back from injury.

He says the club's medical staff will have the final say on when they can return, meaning Ton will again be light in the attacking department again this weekend as the Pars visit Greenock.

Imrie told the Tele:  “In regards to George and Jai, it’ll be a decision that the medical staff need to make.

“They’ve not been involved with the squad for a while as they’ve been doing individual stuff with the physios.

“Jai and George have trained outwith the group, but they’ve been out on the training pitch doing stuff on their own.

“Iain Wilson’s back on the grass as well, doing stuff on his own.

“But until I get given the green light by the decision-makers, I’ll not be able to give a definitive answer as to when they’ll be back.”

Ton are searching for a first win in five games, but the Fifers come to Cappielow in fine fettle after downing league leaders Dundee United.

Imrie said: “Since we’ve lost George and Iain, we haven’t won a game, which is extremely disappointing.

“We’ve dropped out of the play-offs as well, which is doubly disappointing, and we want to rectify that.

“That’s where we want to be and to do that we need to start win games of football again.

“But no game in this division is easy, everybody knows that. Every team is difficult, every team has a similar balance, depth and it comes down to mistakes as to who loses or wins.

“That’ll be the case on Saturday against Dunfermline, who are in a good place just now.

“We need to be aware of the fact that they’re coming off the back of a win against Dundee United and they’ll be looking to avenge the 5-0 defeat that we inflicted on them back in February.

“The boys need to be wary of that, because if I was in James McPake’s shoes, that’d be the messages I’d be using in my dressing room.

“The league is incredibly tight, like it was last season and again I think this season will go right to the wire.

“You want to win as many games as you can because there isn’t a lot of them left and the more you win, the more teams you kill off from catching you.”
