MORTON shot stopper Ryan Mullen has vowed to bounce back from the error that he says cost his side against Dunfermline.

The goalkeeper, who has been in magnificent form since breaking into the team last autumn, has apologised for the momentary lapse which saw the Pars' Miles Welch-Hayes net the matchwinner on Saturday ten minutes after the break.

Even though he went on to make a stunning save to keep the game alive and has been playing through injury for the last month or so, Mullen was still kicking himself at full-time.

He told the Tele: “To concede in the way we did was disappointing, but I think I need to take responsibility for the goal. I’ve got to make the save, it’s fairly routine.

“I’ve just got my feet caught underneath me and didn't get over quickly enough.

“I think I could’ve even gone with my other hand too. It was just a poor mistake from myself.

“I think that as a collective the situation could’ve been prevented but at the end of the day, the boys put their trust in me because normally I do make those saves.

“But I’ll move on and learn from it and strive to be better for the next one.

“That’s just the kind of guy I am. I’ll take it on the chin and not hide away. I think I made another good save later on, but it was poor overall.

“I’ve not been at 100% over the last few weeks, but it’s still decisions in the game I should be capable of making.”
