MORTON boss Dougie Imrie faces a fight to keep Robbie Muirhead after Livingston were today linked with a swoop for his top scorer.

The 28-year-old striker is said to be a target for the relegated Premiership side as they look to get back into the top flight at the first time of asking next season.

Imrie confirmed to the Tele last week that he’d made an offer to Muirhead to keep him at Cappielow for a sixth season.

But he also said he was aware that his number nine had attracted interest from other teams, with the Daily Record now reporting that Livi are chasing him following his impressive 17-goal haul this term in the Championship.

The departure of Muirhead would be another blow for the Ton gaffer, after news of Robbie Crawford's impending return to Partick Thistle.

The midfielder has turned down a two-year extension at Cappielow to move on.

Muirhead meanwhile is said to be in no rush to come to any decisions surrounding his future, with a big summer coming up off the park as he prepares to tie the knot with his partner.

Ton could be facing a big summer rebuild with a whole host of players out of contract.

It is understood that the players who have been offered new deals by the manager have all been given a deadline to answer before he would be forced to turn his attention to other targets.

The Tele understands that there is also interest from elsewhere in player of the year George Oakley as well as midfielder Cameron Blues after both enjoyed successful stints under Imrie.

And it is also believed that two other players are poised to move on, with Tyler French set for the exit at the end of his loan from Dundee and experienced midfielder Alan Power also set for pastures new.
