MORTON hosted a packed end of season awards night where prizes were handed out to players and past heroes were honoured.

Ton's annual presentation dinner was held at Greenock Town Hall, with the prestigious player of the year award and other trophies presented.

Five new inductees were also installed in the club's hall of fame.

The event was hosted by TV presenter Emma Dodds and attended by the Ton squad, management team, backroom staff and officials along with hundreds of fans.

Ton star striker George Oakley claimed a whole host of titles on the night.

He won the main player of the year award, as well as players' player and goal of the season for his winning hat-trick strike in the team's dramatic 3-2 triumph against Dundee United at Tannadice back in January.

He was also crowned player of the year in the vote held by fan ownership group Morton Club Together.

The top scorer prize was meanwhile clinched by Robbie Muirhead for his impressive 17-goal haul over the campaign.

Goalkeeper Ryan Mullen was crowned young player of the year at the end of his first season with the club.

As well as saluting current stars, the event was also an opportunity to put legends from the past in the spotlight, with fan favourites from different eras given a rapturous reception from guests.

Roy Baines, Joe Harper, John McNeil, Derek McInnes and Rowan Alexander were all inducted into the Cappielow hall of fame.

Inductees were applauded onto the stage and later posed for pictures afterwards with supporters who fondly remember their exploits in a Ton shirt.

There was also a special recognition award for the club's long-serving doctor, Craig Speirs.
