MORTON boss Dougie Imrie hopes that incoming forward ace Jordan Davies can bring a winning edge to his side after the 26-goal frontman helped Connah's Quay Nomads to Welsh Cup glory.

Imrie turned heads back in January when he made his move to bring the 28-year-old to Cappielow, with the Wales C international penning a two-year pre-contract agreement with the Cappielow side.

After watching him fire the Deeside outfit to cup glory two weekends ago, Imrie is looking forward to seeing him in a Ton shirt even more.

It comes as the manager faces losing two out of contract strikers, with Robbie Muirhead and George Oakley both the subject of interest from other clubs.

Imrie told the Tele: "I was delighted to see Jordan sign off his time at Connah's Quay by helping them win the Welsh Cup against TNS.

"I just hope that he can bring that sort of form with him to Scotland and hit the ground running at the start of next season.

"He's bringing that winning mentality to Morton with him. Jordan's a player that I like a lot and I watched a bit of that recent final when it was on the TV.

"I thought he did really well. To go and beat a team who hadn't lost a game all season is testament to Jordan and to Connah's Quay.

"I'm delighted for him and we're really looking forward to working with him at the start of pre season."
