MORTON defender Morgan Boyes says that keeping back-to-back clean sheets has made him feel right at home as he looks to build on a great start to life under Dougie Imrie.

The Welsh defender penned a one-year-deal at Cappielow after leaving Livingston at the end of last season, having impressed during a spell on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

And he’s been quick to make an impression in his new surroundings, quickly asserting himself as one of Dougie Imrie’s first names on the teamsheet as he boats being one of football’s rarest commodities, a left-footed centre back.

Boyes says he couldn’t have asked for much more of a better start to life in his new home as he looks to build on some solid home form that’s saw Ton lose only one of seven home games in all competitions this season.

He told the Tele: “I’ve come in and enjoyed it. I’ve really enjoyed my first two games in the league particularly as getting two clean sheets in your first two league starts is exactly what you want.

“If I can get as many as them as possible then hopefully it can give all the boys the best chance possible.

“We’re pleased with our home record, considering that there’s been quite a few changes to the defence and in the squad in general.

“Especially whilst everyone’s gelling together, it’s a really solid foundation that we’ve given ourselves.

“We were glad to get another clean sheet [against Hamilton]. It’s not a loss, and hopefully we can continue to build on that and see it more often than not as the weeks go on.”
