YEARS of Championship experience will help Morton keep a level head as they navigate the tricky waters of the new season's opening phase, according to midfielder Cameron Blues.
The centurion is one of several players in Dougie Imrie’s dressing room who are well acquainted with the ups and downs of the Scottish second tier.
The Cappielow outfit, a fixture in the Championship since 2015, have come away with a trio draws from their opening three fixtures, and are keen to notch their first win of the campaign.
But Blues says the Ton squad has enough know-how not to get too jumpy, or too carried away, at their fortunes in the first few games of the season.

"The results are what matters," he said. "That’s what keeps you in the league.
“We’re trying not to look too far ahead. We’re taking things quarter by quarter and every round of fixtures to see where we are.
“We know there are boys in the dressing room who have got a good bit of experience in the league, and we know not to get too high or too low.
“The boys are training well as a group and I think everyone’s settled in well. I hope they have anyway!
“There’s a couple of us, a good core, who are here from last year, guys like Ryan [Mullen], myself, Bairdy [Ryan Baird] and Gills [Grant Gillespie].
“Hopefully we’ve made everyone feel welcome and part of the group and all the new boys are enjoying it here.”
While the Ton have only conceded a single goal in their first three games, they have also scored just once.
Blues is keen to see that solid defensive record continue and believes the side will get stronger as they grow into the season.
He added: “We want to keep the good, solid defensive performances up, and try to score a few more goals at the other end.
“We’re looking to just get that final bit in the final third and click as a team and get the results.
“It’s hard to put your finger on what that takes. it’s maybe a wee bit of luck just to get that first win, and then things might come.
"But patience is needed as well, and we’ll be fine when it does come.
“Once you get a settled team and everyone is enjoying their football fully with peak fitness as well hopefully that will come.”
