MORTON manager Dougie Imrie has not ruled out making a last-minute deadline day move ahead of the transfer window closing tonight.

The Ton supremo has already made a dozen new signings this window and has hinted at the possibility of adding a 13th before the end of the day.

The Scottish transfer window closes at 11pm tonight, meaning the Cappielow club would have just hours to finalise all of the necessary details if they chose to make a move.

But Imrie told the Telegraph this morning that he still on the lookout for players who could improve his squad.

He added: “As a manager you’re always looking to see if you can enhance your group and I’m no different, we’ve still got a few hours to see if we can get anyone in.

“I’m always actively looking to make the group stronger so who knows, football’s strange at times.

“Something might pop up that we think will help us.

“We’re always active and we’ve got a few hours left to day to try if we can to get someone in, there’s a bit of budget left there and I’ve got scope to try and do something.

“I’m really pleased with what I’ve got at the moment but if I can maybe add one or two then we’ll see if we can get it done.”

Should a deadline day move fail to materialise, the Ton will still have options to bolster their ranks and have in recent years made use of the loan market to boost their options.

Imrie said: “Certainly, in Scotland we still have another month to try and get in loans domestically from teams in Scotland, outwith that it’ll need to be done today.

“I’m always actively trying to make the group and the club stronger on that front.

“Who knows, something might happen today, it might not.

“We’ll just need to wait and see.”
