MORTON have completed the signing of Northern Ireland international Niall McGinn on a season-long loan deal.

The experienced winger has been brought in to bolster manager Dougie Imrie’s attacking options.

The former Aberdeen and Celtic player is no stranger to Scottish football and is also an accomplished international, having won 73 caps for Northern Ireland while scoring six goals.

He moves on loan to Morton from Irish Premiership side Glentoran, where he made 50 appearances and scored 14 goals.

The forward links up with Imrie's men ahead of today's William Hill Championship fixture against Falkirk at Cappielow.

On today’s announcement, Manager Dougie Imrie said: “Niall is a player that I have been interested in bringing to Cappielow for a number of years now and I am delighted to welcome him to the club.

"His experience speaks for itself and he is a player who will bring real quality to the side, he is a great addition to the squad that will only benefit the rest of the team on and off the pitch.”
