CHILDREN at Craigmarloch school were rocking all over the world when they performed a fantastic festive show.

From Africa and America to Hawaii and Spain, the talented youngsters took the audience on a global adventure as part of their ‘Christmas Around The World’ extravaganza.

Parents looked on with pride as 70 pupils stole the show with their pitch perfect singing, acting and wonderful array of costumes including cowboys and flamenco dancers.

Head teacher Eileen Stewart told the Tele it was a terrific way to celebrate the school’s first birthday. She said: “All the families who I spoke to thought it was really good and they all enjoyed themselves. We had a packed audience and the children were all stars.

“The theme was Christmas Around The World so the pupils ‘visited’ North America, Spain, Africa, Hawaii and Scotland to celebrate different cultures.

“Their costumes were lovely and the two narrators did a fabulous job.

“It was a good way to celebrate our first birthday at our new school.” Craigmarloch, which is an additional support needs school, opened in January this year.

It is part of the Port Glasgow’s flagship £44 million community campus with St Stephen’s High and Port Glasgow High also based at the site.
