THERE is travel chaos in Inverclyde this morning after the A8 flooded in several places.
Heavy downpours overnight left the main artery in and out of the area submerged at flooding hotspots.
It is blocked once again at Cappielow. Side roads in Port Glasgow and Greenock's east end quickly became choked as motorists looked for alternative routes.
There is more flooding at the Newark roundabout by Ferguson's Shipyard.
Drivers also reported flooding at the railway bridge at Langbank.
At the other end of the district the A78 at Spango Valley was affected by standing water but still passable with care.
There's also disruption on the railway, with flooding at Branchton affecting services on the Wemyss Bay-Glasgow line.
