A PRETTY Greenock schoolgirl has been crowned Miss Queen UK.
Leah Canning, 15, was thrilled to win the prestigious title at a glittering event held at a Glasgow hotel on Sunday.
The youngster, who has been raising awareness about bullying and discrimination, also scooped a holiday to Majorca, a cash prize and a spectacular crown.
Leah said: “I’m proud of myself. I was in total shock. I’m over the moon about the win and glad that I’ve helped put Inverclyde on the map.”
The Inverclyde Academy pupil lives with her mum Lynette and gran, also Leah, in McLeod Street.
Her proud mum Lynette said: “I’m on cloud nine and Leah has not stopped talking about her win. She started crying when it was announced, all the family were crying too.
“She won best in the interview round and in the evening wear round.
“Leah did really well. It was a brilliant atmosphere.”
