A FED-UP Morton fan hit the bullseye at the darts – after his inventive plea for the club to sign more players was shown to a worldwide audience on live TV.

Michael Dunn went to great lengths in appealing to Ton boss Jim Duffy during the World Matchplay event at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

His card carrying the words ‘Sign a player Duffy!’ was beamed around the world on Sky Sports after he popped up on camera behind two-times world champion Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis.

The stunt went down a storm on social media, with fans sharing the message on Twitter and echoing the call for fresh faces at Cappielow.

Ton gaffer Duffy yesterday told the Tele of his ‘frustration’ after missing out on some key targets, including striker Declan McManus, who opted to sign for Championship rivals Raith Rovers. The boss has only managed to bring in four new faces following the departure of 12 players at the end of last season, but he has called for patience from supporters.

He said: “Over the last two seasons that we’ve been here, we’ve brought in a lot of good young players and thankfully the vast majority have done pretty well.

“I’m sure we’ll do it again, but it’s just taking a bit longer this season and that’s sometimes what happens.”
