FEARS are growing for the safety of a Greenock school teacher who has gone missing in Dubai.

An online campaign has been launched to help trace Kirsty McLaughlin, who is originally from the area but has been working in the United Arab Emirates.

She was last seen on Sunday, with her loved ones growing increasingly concerned for her safety.

It is understood Kirsty lives and works in Dubai along with Australian boyfriend Mitch Joseph Wall.

He posted a picture of the Greenock teacher on Facebook standing next to her white Volkswagen Beetle car.

Mitch said: "This might help, everyone this is Kirsty McLaughlin's car.

"If you see it at any mall, petrol station or on any of the roads in Dubai please report it to the police.

"She doesn't have her phone with her, was last seen Sunday leaving exact same building the picture shows in said car."

Her friend Pauline Donnachie, who lives locally, also took to social media in a bid to raise awareness and track her down.

She said: "Please help find Kirsty McLaughlin.

"Last seen yesterday in Dubai over 24 hours ago.

"Her family and friends are growing more and more concerned for her safety and wellbeing.

"If you could please share with any contacts you have in Dubai.

"She drives a white Volkswagen Beetle.

"Any sightings please let Mitch Joseph Wall know.

"All want her found safe and sound."

Anyone with information about Kirsty's whereabouts are urged to contact the authorities or get in touch with any of her friends or relatives.
