TWO animal charities have benefited from the dashing fundraising efforts of a Greenock nurse.
Lesley Roberts of Greenock raised the most money of all the participants in the annual Santa Dash for the sixth year running.
She has donated £1,330 to the local Royalheart Greyhound Rescue, where she has been a volunteer for seven years, and £300 to Johnstone Cat Rescue.
Lesley said: “Both are looking for all sorts of help, always looking for foster families. Funds are always welcome, as are blankets, food and toys.
“I’d like to thank all my sponsors, including Inverclyde MP Ronnie Cowan, who took part in the dash, Paisley and Renfrewshire North MP Gavin Newlands, colleagues at NHS Ravenscraig, Provost Robert Moran and Councillor Jim MacLeod.
“And a special thanks to Abbey Vets and Kilbarchan Vets, and to their staff and customers.”
