A VITAL community transport service which offers a lifeline to the most vulnerable people in Inverclyde is delighted to sign up another big sponsor.

The Inverclyde Council of Social Service is delighted with the long running support from Peel Ports and recently honoured them for the much needed contribution.

The UK port operator allows them space to park their fleet of 22 buses securely.

In return the transport service has emblazoned their name on one of their buses.

Delighted secretary Stan Austen said: “Peel Ports offer us a great service that helps us reduce costs.

“We wanted to thank them for their long-running support.

“We rely on local businesses to sponsor us because it help with the upkeep of the bus.”

Every day the drivers are out on the roads going to day care centres, nursing homes and also offering a service to local organisations.

The organisation, based in Lynedoch Industrial Estate, transports children to and from Craigmarloch School every day and also has contracts with social services.

They also work closely with the likes of the Greenock Medical Aid Society and Bagatelle Care Home.

The hard-working team rely on the support of local business and organisations for sponsorship and a 30-strong pool of voluntary drivers.
Long standing sponsors also include Blair & Bryden and the Greenock Celtic Supporters’ Club.
