TEA making has been turned into an art form by a Gourock cafe who have given the traditional cuppa a new ‘leaf’ of life.

Cuppas have more quality than ever at One Cove Road as customers queue up to try their new range of Eteaket — a special loose tea range brewed by Gourock-born tea experts Erica Moore and her husband Stewart.

The cafe bistro stocks a range of black, green and white teas, flowering teas, fruit and herb infusions and rooibos teas which are served with full pomp and ceremony.

Manager Julie-Anne McKee, pictured with superviser Drew McMaster, says customers can’t get enough of it.

She said: “Our customers like something that little bit more special, so we have worked with Eteaket to provide just that.

“Our new extended range of loose tea has become an overnight hit with our customers.

“We have also invested in the right tea gadgets for serving the loose leaf tea which we feel adds to the drama and experience particularly for our new range of flowering teas.”

The tea is served up using ‘magic presses’ and timers.

Julie-Anne added: “We’ve had an absolutely phenomenal response.

“Myself and assistant manager Lauren Jannets went through to Edinburgh a few weeks ago to visit the Eteaket tearoom and we met the owner Erica, who is originally from Gourock, so it is great to sell something which is made by someone local.

“Tea is just as popular as coffee at One Cove Road so we wanted to stand out from the crowd and bring something special for tea lovers.

“It’s also quite theatrical in the way it is served.”
