THE man who was knocked down on the A8 in Port Glasgow yesterday remains in hospital.
Police confirmed this morning that the 45-year-old had suffered suspected head injuries after being hit by a coach near the old Ropeworks building just before 4pm.
He was rushed to Inverclyde Royal and stayed there overnight for observation.
Medics say that he has been assessed and his condition is not life threatening.
Police are investigating the accident, which closed the westbound side of the A8 from 4-6pm and caused severe traffic disruption as all Greenock-bound traffic was diverted.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the police on 101.
