A TALENTED Greenock make-up artist is ‘feline’ fine after work inspired by her cat attracted attention from industry experts.

Linsey Millar was blown away by the response she received for the special effects mask she created using inspiration from her pet cat Ezio — a Sphynx breed.

The 26-year-old, who lives in Prospecthill Place, spent months painstakingly preparing the look, which she created as part of her HND make-up artistry course at West College Scotland.

Linsey, who graduated at the end of last year and is now in demand as a freelance make-up artist, says she was overwhelmed by the reaction it received from industry professionals at a special showcase at Paisley Abbey.

She said: “I have always been a crazy cat lady.

“During my time at college they had always said to start thinking early about what you would do for your HND graded unit, so I had been thinking about it for about two years.

“I soon realised that my inspiration was staring me in the face every day — my cat.

“I did my research and I couldn’t see anything like it.

“I always like to be a person who breaks the mould and can do something different.”

Linsey spent months preparing her work before bringing it to life in an eye-catching image which has garnered a great deal of attention.

She added: “It took months of preparation.

“I wanted to create a full mask so I created three different parts but when it was applied, it blended into a mask.

“I had posted on Facebook that I was looking for a model and a girl who was a burlesque dancer contacted me saying she was really interested.

“The funny thing was that she is actually a cat sitter.”

The ‘Sphynx lady’ image went down a storm and Linsey went on to achieve an A+ and an excellence award.

She added: “People said it was a freaky but beautiful and elegant look.

“It was elegant in the way that the model was posing together with the background and even the cat looked like he was posing.”

Linsey, who specialises in make-up for people with skin issues and special occasion and bridal make-up, says the best part of her job is making people feel good about themselves.

She said: “When I was growing up I taught myself how to do my make-up as I had chronic eczema which caused my face to be really red.

“A lot of people with skin problems now come to me and I’m really experienced in that field due to my own experience.”
