A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being attacked in the Grieve Road area of Greenock today.
Police Scotland say he was set upon by a number of males and was left badly injured.
It's understood a weapon may have been used in the incident, which happened around 4.20pm.
The force said that the man was taken to hospital and they added that there was no update available on his condition at present.
Police have cordoned off the car park to the rear of the Grieve Road shops and blocked the adjacent Auchneagh Farm Lane as a full probe into the incident gets under way.
