GREENOCK is like a ghost town after several feet of snow brought the whole of Inverclyde to a standstill.
Traffic is starting to move along Dalrymple Street but people are still being warned to avoid travelling.
While gritters battle to clear many of the main carriageways and trunk roads, side streets and residential areas are still submerged in up to four feet of snow.
Most shops and businesses in Greenock town centre are shut as a result of staff being unable to make it to work.
Public transport across the district also remains off until early afternoon at the earliest.
